The Swedish folkhögskola education is flexible and student-centered

The folkhögskola is a unique form of education that has emerged in the Nordic region. It is aimed at adults and is characterized by flexibility and student influence.

The allmän kurs at Sankt Ignatios folkhögskola corresponds to the education that you normally get in Sweden in primary and secondary school, and grants you the general entry requirements for university studies and higher vocational education.

All our courses are focused on providing participants with the understanding and skills to enable them to make their own judgments and decisions and effect change in the world around them. As well as the core competence required for each course all our courses emphasise democracy, human rights, wellness and health and social interaction. We also work to help our students become active participants in today’s highly digitized society.

We are located in Södertälje.

Visit us

We are happy to welcome would-be participants to visit us at Campus Södertälje or Campus Huddinge. In normal circumstances that would mean physically coming to the school, meeting other participants and teachers, and possibly sitting in on a lecture. Unfortunately, because of the Coronavirus pandemic, our campuses are closed.

However, we would be delighted to welcome you as an ‘online’ visitor. We can arrange for you to talk to teachers and perhaps attend a Meet lecture as well. If you would like to do that, please contact Johan Andersson.
