The Department of Tewahedo Christian Studies offers specialized education in the distinctive traditions of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox churches, representing some of Christianity’s most ancient and culturally rich expressions of faith. Our department engages in collaborative research projects to steward the vulnerable cultural heritage of the Tewahedo tradition while preparing students for ministry in these vibrant Orthodox communities. Through introductory courses and preparatory studies for priesthood, we celebrate the unique theological contributions and spiritual practices that the Tewahedo tradition brings to the global Orthodox family.
