Overview
This course is a modular distance course for those who want to study in Tigrigna and are interested in Eritrean Orthodox theology and tradition. The course contains a total of six modules: Dogmatic Theology, Church History, Bible Study, Patrology, Ecclesiology, and Liturgics. The teaching takes its starting point from the perspective of the student’s pre-knowledge and if deemed suitable the teacher may divide the group into a beginners and advanced level.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify and articulate the meaning and basic concepts of Orthodox spirituality
- Understand how to pray, read scriptures and reflect on them
- Discuss different aspects of Orthodox spirituality
- Identify what is expected from an Orthodox Christian in their day-to-day spiritual and social life
- Instruct family members on the basics of Orthodox spiritual and practical life
Other requirements:
Attendance is mandatory, which requires the presence of at least on the level of 80% of the teaching.
