The general education program taught in the folkhögskola. Provides education equivalent to what Swedish school students receive at the end of their gymnasium education.
En kurs för dig som inte har gått klart svensk grundskola eller motsvarande i annat land. Du förbereder dig för studier på Allmän kurs på gymnasial nivå eller annan utbildn ing på gymnasial nivå. Vi fokuserar framför allt på ökade kunskaper i svenska som andraspråk (på grundläggande nivå), och på hur det svenska samhället fungerar.
En kurs för dig som vill lära dig mer om Ortodox kyrklig tradition och samtidigt få grundläggande behörighet till studier på gymnasial nivå. Du läser Allmän kurs på grundnivå (50 %) och profilämnen (50 %) från utbudet av kurser på Sankt Ignatios College där du kan fördjupa dig inom tre-kyrkotraditioner: Tewahedo, Syrisk eller Bysantinsk.

Programs at folkhögskola level or folkhögskola combined with university level, preparing participants for ministry in the churches
On the pedagogical track of the Pastoral-Pedagogical Program, our participants receive a thorough understanding of the Church’s theological and biblical tradition as well as tools which will allow them to communicate their knowledge to others. Our participants learn how to create a safe and stimulating learning environment within a Church congregation and how to encourage participation in the life of the Church by lay members.
Participants on this course receive a theological education at a master’s level in the Department of Eastern Christian Studies at Stockholm School of Theology. In addition, they learn how to create a safe and stimulating learning environment within a Church congregation or a diocese and how to encourage participation in the life of the Church by clergy and lay members.
The cantor’s training program is designed for devoted participants who wish to study the chants and hymns composed and arranged by Saint Yared. The course lasts for a period of 4-6 years. The languages of instruction and interaction on this course are Tigrinya, Amharic, and Ge’ez.

Studying the Eastern Christian tradition at university level.
This is a three-year bachelor’s program which provides students with a solid understanding of Orthodox theology and tradition, and which teaches them how to study and express themselves within an academic context.
This one-year pre-master’s program aims to provide students with the requisite background knowledge to allow them to begin master’s level studies in Eastern Christian Studies, in cases where applicants lack the formal requirements in the field.
The master’s program is a two-year program in which students acquire a deeper understanding of the field of Eastern Christian Studies as well as proficiency in communicating in a scholarly way at an advanced level.
The master’s program in International Relations and Ecumenism, offered by the Stockholm School of Theology, aims to educate future professionals and scholars in the fields of international and inter-Church relations.
The two-year master’s program in Religion, Politics and Democracy, within the Department of Eastern Christian Studies, aims to educate future professionals and scholars in the understanding of the relationship between religious ideas and institutions and the public sphere.
Stockholm School of Theology (University College Stockholm) is able to offer doctoral level training and supervision, equipping doctoral candidates for research within the field of Eastern Christian studies. The program is equivalent to 240 ECTS credits and can be studied full-time or part-time.
