The Psalms – The Church’s primary prayer book

The Psalms of David are at the heart of the daily services and the Divine Liturgy. In the Church, says St. John Chrysostom, the Psalms are “first, last and middle”, in large part because of their proven ability to transform and enlighten a person’s inner life. This broad introductory course to the Psalter as the Church’s primary prayer book also has practical elements. During a retreat at the beginning of the course, participants will build their own foldable analogion (lectern) for daily readings and learn chanting. At the end of the course (in May 2023), a pilgrimage to Greece will be organized. More information about the retreat and the trip (which participants will pay for themselves) will be available in June 2022.
