The Eastern Christian Theology and Tradition I

This course is an accessible introduction to Eastern Christian studies with the aim of equipping students to serve their Churches in a thoughtful and critical way. In the course students are familiarized with the scriptural, theological and liturgical underpinnings of their tradition, and introduced to the development of the different forms of Orthodoxy through history. A special focus is given to the development of Christology up to and after the Council of Chalcedon.

Students pursue their studies in an inter-Orthodox context.

In addition to the requirements stated in the course description, all students need to be at least 18 year old, be officially registered in Sweden and have a sufficient knowledge of the language of instruction.

Fees: Tuition at Sankt Ignatios Folkhögskola is free for everyone who is a citizen of Sweden or another EU country or who have been granted permission to live in Sweden. Students must be registered as living in Sweden. 

Service Fees: Students are required to pay a service fee. The service fee for this course is SEK 400 per semester
