Sankt Ignatios College (Södertälje, Sweden) contributed to the Stockholm meeting jubilee with the panel “In Pluribus Unum: Developing an Ecumenical Hermeneutic to Overcome the Division from 451 and Beyond.”
In the same spirit that brought East and West, North and South together a century ago, this panel highlights the ongoing necessity of deepening dialogue between the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox traditions. Drawing on the lived experience of the College—where students, faculty, and staff from both traditions share daily life—this panel presents an ecumenical hermeneutic as a method for healing divisions through shared interpretation of texts, symbols, and practices. By inviting distinguished theologians and hierarchs who hold representative positions within their churches, the College seeks to escalate and broaden this initiative, offering its unique model as a living witness to unity-in-diversity.
