Religious Education: A Bridge Between Society and the Church
The educational methods and principles of Swedish Folkbildning (Bildung) helped the Nordic countries make the leap from a poor and struggling society to one of responsible citizens capable of building trustworthy communities and strong democratic institutions.
On 12 September (Friday) from 14:00–15:30 Stockholm time (15:00–16:30 Kyiv time), there will be an online lecture focusing on the following questions:
- What educational methods and tools create an environment for cultivating both individuals and communities?
- What is the role of the Church in a society undergoing transition?
- How can we bridge the gap between civic engagement and the structures of governance?
The lecture will be delivered by Rev. Fr. Serafim Smensgård, Deputy Dean of Sankt Ignatios College and Lecturer in Practical Theology and Religious Behavioral Science.
Following the lecture, there will be a presentation of the Religious Educator Program.
If you have any questions, please contact Yuliia Naidych at yuliia.naidych@sanktignatios.org.
The event is free.
