The life of the seminary is akin to that of a monastery where students follow a daily pattern of study, work and prayer. In terms of study, students learn the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to serve as pastors and leaders within the church. They learn the hymns of St Yared in Ge’ez, study the liturgical services of the Church and learn how to minister to the spiritual needs of the people of God. This is all taught within the context of a daily routine of prayer and liturgy and practical chores such as cleaning and cooking. Last but not least, seminarians form firm bonds of friendship and fellowship with their fellow students. The seminary is a place where prayers, singing and laughter ascend to God in equal measure!
