We live in an age of rapid technological innovation, which brings with it promising advances in the field of science and medicine. These developments, however, also present us with new ethical dilemmas that require engagement and consideration from various perspectives. Based on an Orthodox Christian hermeneutics, this course will explore how a theological mindset (phronema) and discourse could contribute to approaching issues of human dignity and vulnerability within the contemporary pluralistic context of bioethics.

The applicant must have completed their upper secondary (high school) education. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate proficiency in English. The entry requirement for studies at the bachelor’s level in Sweden is equivalent to the English 6 course at Swedish upper secondary school. Students from outside Sweden, or students who cannot verify proficiency in English, are required to make an internationally recognized test, e. g. TOEFL IELTS or equivalent.
